Guys. Learn. As if i havent yet proven myself as a true blue GEEK, today we are gonna talk about Sexual Selection.
Sexual selection is a specific fitness component of Natural Selection.
In sexual selection, we are concerned with mating and fertilization sucess.
With regard to mating sucess, it is determined by 2 factors

1. Intra-sex competition - where the "winner" gets access to the other sex ( usually females)
2. Mate Choice - where (usually) females get to choose her partner in the process deciding paternity of her offspring.

What should a male do to get chosen? You show as best as you can, ALL your desirable qualities and traits.

Which is why ah-bengs grow long pinkie finger nails, why guys often overdo the GEL, why girls look like friggin geishas even at 8am lectures, why John Travolta couldn't stop thrusting his hips suggestively in a whole string of movies...etc

OK you get my drift ya.. usually its the male of the species that do the attracting while the females choose... we'll talk abt why next time...
