  Idle fever.
The laptop's still stuck in the gadget hospital. I'm still suffering from gadget-withdrawal plus competing with the rest of the family to use the desktop is really not fun. The thing is, ever since i've gotten my own laptop, the rest of them have kinda worked out a unspoken unwritten computer usage time table. So now that i'm back to compete for computer time, well lets just say that we sometimes have to remind ourselves that "thou shalt not kill" is a very important comandment! So i have a very small window of opportunity to gain internet time, when the 3 of them are occupied at the same time - dad's watching world cup while the sis is *cough*pretendin*cough* i mean doing homework and while the mother is preparing for bed. This window starts 10-ish and lasts till someone comes and grumbles.

Now that you realise how ardous it has been for me to come online and blog, you should realise how really blessed you are to be reading this entry! *grinZ* ok i geddit stop the vomit-inducing self praise....

Moving on, caught singapore idol today, the wildcard round. I realised a couple of things
1. Daniel Ong is quite redundant as a host isn't he? Is he there to make sure that the constestants are under constant adult supervision and not left alone in the red room? Is he there because Gurmit Singh has bad time management and cannot split his tv time properly between being on stage and with the other contestants? Don't they learn from other people's mistakes? American Idol had 2 hosts in the season1 tOo and i'm sure they figured one overly-styled-bleached-hair-metrosexual guy was enough to carry the show. Hence we have ONE ryan seacrest! point proven.

2. As much as i love Jacintha as a singer, i just cannot make sense of some of her comments. The contestant sings, Dick Lee says something then Florence usually concurs then Jacintha mumbles some one liner which has the audience silenced because they have no idea if it was a praise then the audience will just abruptly break into cheer as if to say "whatever la just cheer to make people believe it was a good thing!" Strange............

3. Ken Lim has become some wise sage of pop-idolism. He's so cocky, most of the time just plain rude and the stinging remarks come out of his stony face in such a matter-of-a-factly manner that it is as though he really believes that he knows the music industry inside and out. My question is, Who died and made him Singapore Idol GURU? huh? who? WhOoo????

I love my country. I have pride in my nation. I do. But erm... lets be adults and face this issue like grown ups ok? our contestants have nothing compared to the ones in american idol. I mean, i think they would never even make it through the audition round. Sigh. Jia You la Singapore.. lets make this our goal..to produce better singers. IT is ATTAINABLe... just like Singapore's world cup goal..2010... *muffled laughter*
